Official Wasior Death Toll Recorded at 145 : Minister

Antara, 11/10 - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono said on Monday the Wasior flood disaster that happened last October 4 had taken the lives of 145 people and 103 people missing. The related authorities would work in close coordination with each other during the emergency response period which started last October 4 and would end on October 18. Basic needs such as food, clean water and medicine had been sent to the location while the evacuation of both survivors and casualties were also in progress. On the same occasion, Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih said a total of 185 people were badly injured due to the flood. Some of them had been transfered to hospitals in Manokwari and Nabire.
Note:
Due to frequent heavy raining in various parts of Indonesia, a lot of areas are inundanted. Media reported that IDPs shown symptoms of diseases such as skin rash, fever, and diarrhea.
